Clayton, Winnebago County initial responders rescue horse from icy h2o

CLAYTON – The Town of Clayton Fireplace Rescue and Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office found themselves in an unexpected scenario Saturday after acquiring a simply call for a horse that had fallen by ice on a pond at a boarding facility.

Chief, a 13-year-previous, experienced been a single of 6 horses to crack out of a paddock at the boarding facility, his proprietor, Melinda Bosmans, explained. While roaming free of charge, Main stepped onto a frozen pond and broke by the ice, slipping into murky drinking water up to his neck.

Luckily, Bosmans explained, just one of the owners dwelling on the property was home when the horses acquired out and was able to act speedily and simply call 911 for assist.

“If she was not household, there is no way that Chief would have survived,” Bosmans reported.
